Meet the Ice Surfers: We're more than just a hockey team for "B" level female players; we're a community dedicated to outstanding coaching and creating a positive atmosphere. Our focus is on building strong, confident players on the ice and empowered individuals off it. We believe in supporting each other like family, celebrating our unique strengths, and growing together. MEET THE COACHES

Experience

  • Former assistant coach with the Chinese National Program

  • Former instructor and hockey program manager for OS Hockey

  • Former Coach of the Upper Midwest High School Minnesota Elite League 

  • Former STP and Captain practice lead coach  for various programs in the Minneapolis Metro area

  • Former Assistant Coach at Breck High School 

    • 2018 State Champions

  • Staff member and Assistant Coach of Shattuck St. Mary’s U16

    • Four-time National Champions (‘13,’14,’15,’16)

  • Coaching experience at  USA Hockey Girls National Camp, Heartland Hockey Camp, Velocity Hockey, Northern Edge, and Forte Hockey.


Other Hockey Related Experience:

Sydney attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, where she played four years of NCAA Division 1 hockey and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Psychology. She also has traveled globally competing professionally for Team USA in the Red Bull Crashed Ice Tour. Sydney played 5 years of Varsity hockey at Prior Lake High School and is the All-time leading scorer for the Prior Lake Girl’s Hockey program.

Experience

  • Current on-ice instructor and co-owner of Forte (2020-present)

  • Former assistant coach/video coach with the Minnesota Whitecaps (2022-2023)

  • Former assistant coach with the Chinese National Program (2019-2020)

  • Former assistant coach at Breck School (2014-2018)

    • 2018 State Champions

  • Over 10 years of coaching experience, including youth, high school, and international

  • Former collegiate athlete at Saint Anselm College (2008-2012)

  • ECAC Women’s Open Champion; Team Captain

  • ECAC All-Conference Team; Leadership Committee

  • Most Improved Player Award

    Other Hockey Related Experience:

    • Upper Midwest HS - Elite League Hockey Coach and Evaluator (2014-2020)

    • OS Hockey on ice and bench instructor (2014-2020)

    • High Performance (HP) Evaluator (2016)

ICE SURFER TEAMS

In 2024-2025, the Ice Surfers will offer one 10U team. We are gathering interest for the 12U level. This summer, our programming will be built around family input after our first training session on April 11th.
